I shared this story last night at Easter dinner and had everyone laughing hystarically at me...
Before I was pregnant, I was always cold. I grew up with a mother who was constantly telling me to "put a sweater on" while I tried to convince her that it was inhumane to keep the furnace set to 17. Eventually I moved into my own place and started to pay utilities and have learned to "put a sweater on." Nevertheless, I tend to get The Big Chill in the late October/early November and don't thaw out until the snow melts and the tulips start to rise. The Big Chill is a perpetual state of cold that no amount of sweaters can overcome. The only cure is a hot bath, a hot tub or a hot heating pad. Anyway, I'm totally getting off track.....
This past winter I didn't come down with The Big Chill. In fact, pregnancy has caused me to experience the exact opposite. I wake up with night sweats, I've had to sleep in the spare room so I don't cause Kris to overheat and I've barely put a sweater on, even on the chilliest of days.
Now...to the actual story....
The temperature on Friday was so nice that we opened all the windows and let the warm, fresh Spring air in. When it was time for bed, my summer brain kicked in and I told Kris to turn on the ceiling fan.
That's right - WE HAVE A CEILING FAN!
In the entire past 8 months it did not occur to me once to turn on the ceiling fan. NOT ONCE.
Apparently my brain can only think of ceiling fans and the effects they have when it is hot OUTSIDE, rather than INSIDE.
This is what happens to your brain when you become pregnant. Little smart pieces of your brain just cease to exist.........and you sweat.
